Why I Love This Goat Cheese Dip

Everyone loves a good dip, and this whipped goat cheese is one of those recipes that never disappoints! Now, I know not everyone loves goat cheese, my mom being one of them. She always says that she can pick out the “grassy” taste when I put goat cheese in a dish. But not when it comes to this dip—she absolutely loves it!!

This dip has the perfect balance of savory, tangy, and sweet, especially with the chopped pistachios and hot honey on top. I love how the goat cheese and Greek yogurt add bright flavor, while the cream cheese makes everything extra smooth. It’s the kind of appetizer where everyone will want the recipe!

Here’s why you’ll love this recipe:

  • Super fast and easy to blend in the food processor. Perfect for any type of party, whether it’s summer or the winter holidays.
  • Smooth and creamy texture with the perfect amount of tang.
  • A bit of a spicy kick with hot honey on top.
  • Perfect when paired with crackers, pretzels, or fresh vegetables.

Whipped Goat Cheese Ingredients

A combination of unique ingredients comes together to make this super flavorful dip:

  • Goat cheese – This is the tangy base that gives the dip its signature flavor.
  • Cream cheese – Adds smoothness and makes the spread extra creamy.
  • Greek yogurt – Brings a little tang and lightens the texture.
  • Lemon juice – Brightens up the richness with a pop of acidity.
  • Honey – Adds a subtle sweetness to balance the flavors.
  • Garlic – For a little extra savory flavor.
  • Fresh parsley and fresh thyme – Add earthy freshness and color. It’s a great way to use up some spices from the garden or farmer’s market.
  • Kosher salt and black pepper – Enhance all the flavors and add a hint of spice.
  • Pistachios – For crunch and a pop of color. Make sure to buy roasted and salted pistachios for the perfect addition of flavor.
  • Hot honey – Adds sweet heat that pairs beautifully with the goat cheese and pistachios. You can opt for regular honey here if the spice isn’t what you prefer.

How to Make Whipped Goat Cheese

It takes just two easy steps to put together this dip:

Combine and blend – In a food processor, combine the goat cheese, cream cheese, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, honey, garlic, parsley, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Blend for 1-2 minutes until well incorporated.

Make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure even mixing.

Serve – Transfer to a serving dish and use a spoon to smooth out the top. If serving right away, sprinkle with chopped pistachios and drizzle generously with hot honey. If serving later, store in the refrigerator without the toppings, then add them right before serving.

Serving & Storage

To serve – Add the chopped pistachios and drizzle of hot honey right before serving. Set this out on a board with crusty baguette slices, crisp crackers or pretzels, and fresh veggies like sliced cucumber and cherry tomatoes. It’s also delicious as a spread on sandwiches or wraps (without the pistachios and hot honey).

To store – Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. If the dip has been allowed to sit, give it a quick stir before serving.
