I love the amazing community that has grown on my Facebook Page. With engaging videos that others love and enjoy comes the opportunity for others with less honorable intentions to target my followers with spam.
How do I know if it’s really your Page?
You can always follow my official link to my Facebook page. You will know that it is my Page if you see the follower number listed under my profile picture. At the time I’m writing this, the follower count is 1 Million. See the picture below for what to look out for.
Can you get a blue checkmark on Facebook so I know which page is yours?
I have a verified account on Facebook, which can be confirmed with the blue checkmark beside my Page name. See the image above for what the blue checkmark should look like.
Can you have Facebook take down the imposters?
It is not easy to have other Pages or Groups taken down, even if they are using my profile picture or content. Facebook does not love to take down accounts, especially those that are getting good interaction, which some of the fake Pages or Groups have. I have tried so many times to have imposter accounts removed, even after speaking with a Facebook employee, but none have been removed.
It is frustrating for you and me. I’m sorry that it is not an easy thing to do, even though it seems like it should be.
