The best kind of grilled burger! Simple seasoning, juicy beef, and plenty of fresh-off-the-grill flavor. These burgers are easy to shape, quick to cook, and just right for summer meals.
Mix the patties: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix together, making sure the ingredients are well combined.
Form the patties: Form 8 equal balls, depending on the number of burgers desired. Press the balls into patties, about 4 ½ inches wide and ¾-inch thick. Make a ½-inch indent in the center of each patty.
The patties can be made several hours in advance and kept in the refrigerator until ready to grill.
Cook: Preheat the grill on high for 10-15 minutes. Oil the grates with neutral oil, and place patties on the grates. Let cook for 3-5 minutes per side, depending on personal internal doneness preference. For food safety purposes, the USDA recommends that burgers reach an internal temperature of 160°F in the center when checked with an instant-read thermometer. Once grilled, remove the burgers from the grill and serve.
neutral oil
If using an indoor grill pan, preheat on medium-high for 10 minutes. Oil the pan with neutral oil, and working in batches, add burgers. Cook for 3-5 minutes per side. Set aside and continue cooking burgers until all are done.
