A simple and easy-to-make peach cobbler is the perfect summertime dessert. And the best part of this recipe is the fact that it's truly "lazy" with a minimal number of steps. Slice up some peaches, mix six ingredients, and you'll be ready to bake!
Add the butter to a 8 x 8-inch baking dish. Set the baking dish in the oven and preheat the oven to 350°F. Once the butter is melted in the oven, remove the baking dish, 4-6 minutes. Set the baking dish aside while preparing the batter.
4 tbsp unsalted butter
Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Whisk to incorporate evenly. Add the milk and whisk until smooth.
¾ cup all-purpose flour, ½ cup granulated sugar, 1 ½ tsp baking powder, ¾ tsp kosher salt, ¾ tsp ground cinnamon, ⅔ cup whole milk
Pour the batter into the baking dish with the melted butter. There is no need to stir. Add the sliced peaches directly on top of the batter.
2 cups peeled and sliced peaches
Bake in the preheated oven until the cobbler is golden and set in the middle, 45-55 minutes. Once baked, remove from the oven and cool 15 minutes before serving.

Notes
When adding the peaches to the top of the batter, make sure to pour any residual juices that collect in the bottom of the bowl into the batter. These juices are additional sweetness and flavor, and the liquid will not change the consistency of the cobbler once baked. When the butter is in the oven melting, make sure to watch it, so it does not burn. When butter burns, it becomes bitter. Pull out the baking dish with butter when it has just melted.
