Made from super simple ingredients, this dough is the perfect recipe for a homemade pizza. With a light texture and air pockets, this dough will mimic your favorite restaurant's recipe! Try this once and you'll always make pizza at home from now on!
In a large bowl, combine the water, salt, and 2 tbsp of the olive oil and stir to dissolve the salt.
1 tsp kosher salt, 1 cup warm water (100°F to 110°F)
Add the flour and yeast and mix until it forms a wet and shaggy dough.
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour, 2 ¼ tsp (1 pkg) instant yeast
Knead the dough until it forms a cohesive mass. The dough will be slightly sticky.
Add the remaining oil to a medium bowl and roll the prepared dough in the oil, coating it completely. Cover and allow the dough to rise in a warm place for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the dough is doubled in size.
After resting, use with any pizza recipe or press out the dough into a 14-inch round. Top with sauce and toppings. Bake on the lower ⅓ of the oven for 18-23 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the crust is browned. Remove and serve hot. Alternatively, the raw dough can be frozen before the resting stage. When it’s time to use, remove from freezer and thaw to room temperature, about 2-3 hours. Then continue with the recipe.
