  1. Watch how to maintain the garden.

Whether harvesting the vegetables that are ready in the garden or picking weeds, there is a lot of maintenance to do in the garden! Here are the tasks that I always keep at the forefront to ensure everything is on the right track!

A garden is a commitment one needs to keep all season long. This is why I emphasize that if one is new to gardening, start small so the continual work stays small. Once a yard area is tilled and planted, the work really begins. If you enjoy the work, you will be rewarded with the fruits of your labor – fresh produce all season!

I’m starting to pick the French breakfast radish, which is so delicious. There is nothing more satisfying than the first batch of radishes from the garden. Weeds are also ready to be “picked.”  It always amazes me how a little rain and warmth produces so many weeds! I like to spend time weeding a few times a week. A little here, a little there, cause the work to be spread out and never seem overwhelming. Hopefully, your garden is growing and producing, and you, too, are enjoying the first picks of spring!
